Rick Treon is a suspense novelist, essayist, and former journalist. Prior to the publication of his debut novel, DEEP BACKGROUND, Treon was the managing editor for two Texas newspapers.
He cut his writing teeth while working at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Amarillo Globe-News, and Kerrville Daily Times. Other life experience has come in the form of waiting tables, repairing electric motors, selling industrial equipment, and providing manual labor on oil pipelines in Texas and Oklahoma.
Treon, who was named a “new novelist to watch” by Lone Star Literary Life, is a member of the International Thriller Writers, the Writers’ League of Texas, and the Texas High Plains Writers. He will be speaking at ThrillerFest in New York in July.
