This story is my first with Fawkes Press and will kick off my new series of thrillers featuring true crime writer Bartholomew Beck (the first novel, Let the Guilty Pay, releases July 4).

I’ve really enjoyed spending time with Beck and the other characters in this series so far.

But while he’s researching the case, Beck — whose only bestselling book is nearly twenty years in his rearview — discovers the motive for Pastor Jerry Erickson’s death is much darker than what Caitlin has let on.
